Off-Leash Training – Freedom for Your Dog, Peace of Mind for You!
Our Off-Leash program includes daily training sessions with your dog while boarding with us to respond reliably to voice commands and hand signals, whether they’re right beside you or across a park, sprinting down the beach or exploring a hiking trail – all without a leash. Each voice command has a corresponding hand signal, giving you the option for silent, nonverbal communication. This is particularly useful in situations where voice commands aren’t practical—around other dogs, in quiet environments, or at a distance. Voice and hand signals include:
Your dog will learn the following commands while off leash:
Sit – Listens and stays seated until released
Stay – Holds position even around distractions
Down – Lies down calmly on command
Come – Returns to you promptly off leash
Heel – Walks politely at your side
Leave It – Ignores unwanted items or distractions
Off – Stop jumping on people, counter-surfing, etc.
Place – Go to their bed on command
We’ll also tackle behavioral issues your dog may have like chewing, digging, jumping on people, play biting, and incessant barking, and will work with you so you’ll know how to correct your dog and stop bad behavior.

Off-leash training is an advanced obedience program where your dog learns to respond to commands from a distance without the guidance or control of a leash. This means your dog will obey voice commands and hand signals reliably, whether they’re right beside you or across a field.
The hallmark of our off-leash program is teaching your dog to respond reliably even when you’re across a field or park, other dogs or people are present, wildlife or interesting scents are nearby, in unfamiliar environments, or during exciting or stressful situations.
Your dog will master all essential commands with both voice and hand signals: sit, down, stay, heel, come, leave it, and place. Each voice command has a corresponding hand signal, allowing you to communicate with your dog silently when needed—particularly useful around other dogs, in quiet environments, or at a distance.
Like our on-leash program, off-leash training includes correction of common behavioral issues: no jumping, controlled greetings with people and other dogs; no barking, quiet command effective at any distance; no chewing, respect for household items and furniture; no digging, eliminating destructive yard behaviors; no play biting, gentle, appropriate interaction; and controlled energy, calm behavior even in exciting situations.
Your dog stays at our ranch for 28 consecutive days while receiving intensive off-leash training. This immersive approach builds the reliability needed for true off-leash freedom.
We begin by solidifying basic obedience commands, ensuring your dog has a strong foundation before progressing to off-leash work. Your dog learns to respond immediately and reliably while on leash.
Gradually introducing off-leash training in controlled environments, building reliability and confidence in both dog and commands. We practice in various areas of our property with increasing distractions.
Advanced distance work and introducing real-world distractions to ensure commands hold up in any situation. Your dog learns to respond from across our property, around other dogs, and despite exciting stimuli.
Throughout the program, you’ll receive private lessons where you’ll learn how to give effective voice commands and hand signals, proper timing and reinforcement techniques, how to maintain training after your dog returns home, and you’ll receive unlimited follow-up lessons after graduation at no additional charge.
